The Cara Cara2, a compact and lightweight folding knife from innovative cutlery company Spyderco, has been reengineered to include a full flat-ground blade for enhanced edge geometry and cutting precision. Other updates and improvements include a proprietary Bi-Directional Textured FRN handle, for improved grip and control, and phosphor bronze pivot washers for smooth blade operation. Similar to the prior model, the Cara Cara2 retains spine and choil jimping and a four-position clip for a variety of carrying configurations. Skeletonized nested handle liners add strength while keeping weight to a minimum, and screw-together construction is both sturdy and easy to clean and maintain.

The 8Cr13MoV steel blade has a comet-shaped hole, and the jimped crosshatching alone the spine helps the thumb’s grip on the top of the blade for precise, comfortable, nonslip use. A finger choil enhances the ergonomic stainless steel handle, and the mid-positioned back lock has a David Boye cut-away dent, a safety feature allowing tight gripping without accidentally releasing the lock.
